Mission & Purpose

PHC works to support the health and well being of our community: children, families and individuals. We actively pursue the vision of a community where basic needs of safety, health, shelter, food security and connection are the concerns of all.

PHC has evolved and grown with the needs and requirements of the community. PHC is for everyone on Gabriola. We believe that all of us are needed to help fulfill our aim of an inclusive, strong, prosperous community that is responsive, caring and sustainable. People for a Healthy Community works to:

Address poverty and isolation issues and support for those in crisis
Provide food to people experiencing food shortages
Prevent violence against women & children
Support those facing employment & disability barriers
Support children and families.
